Human Resource Machine at a Glance...
I recently got in touch with the trio of developers known as Tomorrow Corporation, and they were kind enough to shoot a review key of their latest title, Human Resource Machine, over for some coverage. While visually the same as their last entry, Little Inferno, this title winds up being something largely different in comparison, leaving behind the fun pyro antics and deep story line for that of a mail room clerk climbing the corporate ladder with an additional background story line that is (hopefully) just as deep. But, after having played around with a few stages, I figured I'd share what I thought about it before the game drops, and explain why this title wasn't what I initially thought it would be. Of course, that last statement is more a thing of stupidity on my part because, really, this is resource managing. You are a new employee brought into the company, starting out in the mail room. You are literally taking items from the inbox over to the outbox year after year. However, after every stage, you climb a rung of the ladder and go up to the next floor, where the jobs become a little more difficult. You…
Let’s Play ‘Layers of Fear&#...
When it comes to horror games on Steam, they're a dime a dozen. Even now, gazing at my Steam game list, I have countless of horror themed games ranging from unplayable to unquestionably brilliant, the former more so than the latter, sadly. Layers of Fear is one of the newer entries on the marketplace, and it has been taking the net by storm. I decided to jump in head first to this "Early Access" title and see what the big deal is. Come, follow me as I explore the psychological horror of a deranged painter, and stalking artwork... Layers of Fear was produced and developed by Bloober Team SA and can be purchased on Steam at THIS LOCATION.
Let’s Play ‘The Slaughtering...
The Slaughtering Grounds. Very few games on the Steam marketplace have ever earned as much infamy as this title from Digital Homicide Studios, thanks largely to Youtube veteran Jim Sterling's coverage of the title, as well as the developer/publisher's actions following it. It's been on my radar every since that video. However, I never actually bought it outright. I actually own this title through a random bundle purchase a few months ago. Either way, it's been sitting in my collection, waiting for just the right time. Well, after a fairly rough night and morning (not quite the worst by far, but still pretty annoying), I decided to sit down with my bottle of Apothic Dark wine (amongst other alcoholic beverages), unwind, and see just how bad this game really is.
Alexander Raids Impressions...
This isn't really a review since this is a very small part of the game but it is the first raids of Heavensward to be released. As most Final Fantasy fans will know, Alexander is a giant living fortress, sometimes can be summoned in-game. I managed to clear them day one.  I did them in a PUG (although, arranged of members from Ragnarok's best FCs, Solitude, Angered etc) too, that's kind of just how easy they are (yet, there is still players who complain how hard they are; but I have to remember I am more used to harder raids, others aren't, so what is easy to me is probably hard to others, these though, honestly not that hard to ask for nerfs.. some people just don't want to try, I'm sure people probably seen a post on Reddit with a picture of someone already WTB - Want to Buy - Alex and there is already sellers on my server selling it).  They don't need players to be part of any static/hardcore raiding FC and are mainly this easy for story reasons, Square took the feedback from players who couldn't pass Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 5, but wanted to…
Let’s Play: ‘Super Cyborg...
It was about two in the morning, eastern standard time, and I was browsing the new releases on Steam. Super Cyborg caught my eye. I'm finally a little more relaxed after the previous entry into the Super Cyborg video series, so I opted to pick up what looked like a spiritual successor to Contra, one of my all time favorite game series ever created. What I played, well... you'll just have to watch and find out... Super Cyborg is available for purchase through Steam at THIS LOCATION,or Desura at THIS LOCATION.
Early Access – The District...
I'm not entirely sure when early access started for The District on Steam, but the first update dropped back in early April of this year. The title is slated to officially launch in late August, which is just a little more than a month and a half from the time of writing this article. As it stands, this independent action/adventure title from developer and publisher Kotach, who is also responsible for the recently released Uncrowded, has gained a slew of negative feedback from users, and is being slammed by many gaming journalists for various reasons. Of course, this title found its way into my game library, either through a bundle purchase or during a recent sale that put the title at the cost of selling one or two trading cards on the Steam marketplace and I was too tired (or drunk) to realize what I was buying. But is this something that, even before the official final product drops, is worth all the hate it is receiving? First of all, The District is essentially the product of a Unity asset flip, which is something that Kotach is especially infamous for now following the release of Uncrowded. The base game in…
Mystic Forge Conduit...
With the rebuilding of Lion's Arch comes a new item that you can craft. This guide will aid you through crafting the Mystic Forge Conduit. This crafting guide is simple and to the point, but it covers everything you need to know to craft this item. The RNG Approach Trading Post Obtaining the required parts There are two main ways to get the parts for this conduit, one is to buy them from the trading post. The second is through random drops while opening Ectoplams based items from Apprentice Mekteki, or Apprentice Nipptokk in Lion's Arch. The RNG Approach There are two main locations where you can gamble Ectoplasm in Lion's Arch. The first is near Shattured Gate to the south-west. The other is next to the Frog Pong point of interest near the bank. Both of these vendors are marked with an Ectoplasm icon, so they're easy enough to find. The harder of the two is Mekteki. This skritt is hiding in a cave accessible from an entrance hidden in the water. The map below shows you how to enter. The cost of gambling is as follows: Dab of Destabilized Ectoplasm (5 ectos, 40 silver) Clump of Destabilized Ectoplasm(50…
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward – B...
As most people know who plays Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the expansion Heavensward will be with us tomorrow through Early Access (for players who have pre-ordered the expansion).  This will be the entire expansion, so players can level up to Lv. 60 and possibly clear most of the stuff if rushing.  Players can even change into the new race Au Ra if they have fantasias saved (for players who got the Collector's Edition, they will have to wait until the official launch, June 23rd for theirs or buy one). Before the update launches, there was patch notes released, these detail things like new quests, what to expect from crafting, and what they have done to improve the game.  To my kind of dislike, they have added a /playtime command.. I don't really want to know how much time I have put into this game but I'm kind of curious too, maybe it's not as much as I think as I am a rather fast learner for things like the Coils whereas it can take other groups months to clear some of that content.. I have it learned with a week to a few weeks.  Depending how complex the…
Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter XXI...
So there was a Live Letter today and it was actually really long for one.  They don't usually last over 2 hours so there was a lot of new information given out about Heavensward.  It started off with the theme song, "Dragonsong" which was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, this included a video which does have spoilers to the last patch of the game, so if you have not cleared the story yet and don't want it spoiled, it's maybe best you don't watch this until you clear that. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtuwltmTp9I They also revealed new skills for each job class, including the new ones. There was actually a lot of information that came with these skills, giving players hints where and when to use in combos.  I partly don't like all these new skills as it just means the game is gonna get harder and harder to play with using a controller.. I may end up using a set up like Yoshida has and using Keyboard/Mouse and Controller in the future. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbvv0rgrT4k Then there was a video showcasing which is maybe the majority of the dungeons in the new expansion.. I kind of played a guessing game with some of them figuring…
Getting Prepared for Heavensward.....
If you know of Final Fantasy XIV, you may or not be aware of its upcoming expansion.  Heavensward is going to add to story, bring 3 new classes, a new race (Au Ra, which I plan in changing to.. because they look freakin' awesome), Alexander raids (probably the content I look forward to the most), more new exciting content.  And I'm sure with how they treated A Realm Reborn, the story will only expand afterwards. I downloaded the Benchmark, decided I would run it and well.. lets just say the results made me go and plan a new build of a PC.  I do want to play this game on PC as well as PS4.  But I could create an Au Ra, this is what my character is going to look like come the expansion.. did intend to go as a female but I think the male Au Ra look a lot better and none of the female hair styles looked good to me.. as for the male.. there is everything from Dragon Ball Z hairstyles to semi-normal looking ones.  I just like the fact the Au Ra race has scales on their body, kind of looks like tattoos.  Kind…
