Final Fantasy XIV: Dreams of Ice 2.4 Upd...
Final Fantasy XIV's 2.4 update has been released and here is the official notes.  This update adds quite a lot of stuff and some players may find it difficult of where to start.  I recommend getting the main storyline out of the way first.  It's all easy stuff, remember if you still have A Realm Reborn, A Realm Awoken, Through the Maelstrom, Defenders of Eorzea storylines to do, you'll need to complete these first before starting the Dreams of Ice storyline. Players who have completed The Striking Tree (Extreme) will be able to take on the quest "Drop Dead Shiva" after they clear Dreams of Ice.  This will unlock the Extreme version of Shiva. Then if you have been following them previously, you should do Hildibrand and Delivery Moogle quest lines.  Hildibrand's quest line unlocks a new trial this time which fans of Final Fantasy VI may enjoy.  This will also be required for the roulette, so if you wish to regain access to that, you'll need to these quests. Three new Dungeons have been added, these will be your new Expert Level dungeons, anything that was in this previously will be down to High Level dungeons. Snowcloak: Unlocked via…
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Expansion...
So the Fan Festival for Final Fantasy XIV is now here and with it came the announcement of the first expansion pack. It will be known as Heavensward, the story of it will be centered around Ishgard, we only seen a glimpse of this in the Defenders of Eorzea update.  As well as that it will also bring quite a few changes to the system. Level Cap will be increased from Lv. 50 to 60. New Jobs New Race New Primals So yes, there is plenty being added on for players who have done everything and grew tired of the game, they'll now have a reason to come back.  I'm personally hyped about it as there is a lot of Dragoon footage (and that armor looks awesome).  Also expect lots of dragons!  Here is a teaser of what is to come. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68CNzwinqlg The Expansion Pack will be released in Spring 2015, so it is quite a bit to go yet, but players can always keep themselves entertained in the Dreams of Ice update.
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Demo Preview...
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- just had a demo released for PS4 users, although very limited.  It's only available until 29th of October, and it's only available to Japanese PS Plus users.  Luckily I have a Japanese account which I never used the free 14 days on so I was able to get into this. The demo includes the full tutorial mode (you may and may not be able to do this though, it depends on your Japanese knowledge, I managed to get about all of them cleared but a few, at least the first 20 or so of them should be easy enough for anyone to guess at).  And the full arcade mode for both Sol Badguy and KY Kiske, the main characters of the series. The game plays really well, it is somewhat easier than the older Guilty Gears, I'm very pleased to see they didn't add a "mash this button" mode, although too soon to say yet I suppose, but I doubt they will.  Combos are very fluent, even more so than they were in the originals.  Some elements have been changed in the game, like new moves, Sol can change into dragon form, which is very overpowered…
Bayonetta 2 Demo Preview...
The Demo of Bayonetta 2 was released onto the WiiU today, it allows players to play the prologue. This may only be a demo, but I'm already sold that this will be a great game, the gameplay worked extremely well.  The combos were fluent, they haven't really changed anything from the previous Bayonetta besides adding something known as a Umbran Climax, they have only really improved bits and pieces.  For this being a "prologue" there is seriously quite a lot of bosses and I also get the feeling that this may not be the whole prologue. Here is a playthrough I did of the demo. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLAOVA4SoSo Bayonetta 2 will be available for purchase on October 24th for Europe and US.  It is already available in Japan.  While the games' sales have been rather bad (Nintendo thought it be a good idea to release Super Smash Bros. for 3DS on the same date), the review scores say otherwise, Japan's leading reviewers, Famitsu has given it a score of 38/40, which is quite an achievement as Famitsu isn't known for giving a lot of games high scores like this.
Tokyo Games Show 2014...
This Tokyo Games Show has covered everything I have wanted to see and has not been disappointing at all.  Like always, I'll cover mostly everything except things such as Visual Novels, Smartphone apps, stuff that probably won't see the light of day outside of Japan. Let's start with what Square Enix has revealed. Final Fantasy XV has got a new trailer, it definitely is looking like an open world game, just like they said.  It also seems like driving an actual car has returned to the series, this hasn't been seen since Final Fantasy VIII.  I'm hoping there will still be chocobos though.  Monsters look massive (the first one you see looks like an Adamantoise, although I'm only really guessing, but if so, I thought FFXIII's version of these was huge, didn't expect any bigger than that but there you go, Square Enix is full of surprises at times) and there's a little something in there that only fans of classic Final Fantasy will notice.  It looks like a real change to the series and probably something it honestly needed.  Tetsuya Nomura also has stepped down from the development of this, to start concentrating on Kingdom Hearts III.  A playable…

This short introduction will outline everything that you can buy to cut corners off cultivating Mawdrey. You're still going to have to put some time into collecting all the items from the living story and world exploration, but the buying the following items will allow you to shave off the 20+ days of time gated materials. Please note that the following list includes items to make Mawdrey. As this is an ascended back piece, you will not need to buy as many items if you plan to go no further than the Cultivated Vine. Pokkén Tournament Announced...
It was maybe only a year ago when the rumor of a Pokémon fighting game came up.  Which has turned out to be true and the lead developers of both Tekken and SoulCalibur are involved. Pokkén is kind of  a play on Tekken's name, so it's probably going to play a lot like Tekken itself.  It seems to mainly feature the fighting-type Pokémon. The game will be released in 2015 on Arcade Machines first in Japan, no hint at what console it will be released on yet, but it is kind of safe to assume the WiiU. Below is a short preview displaying fighting-type Pokémon Lucario and Machamp, with Lucario shifting into his mega form. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Cs4L1JALY
Exclusivity Killing Established IPs...
This isn't the first or last time we will hear about games going exclusive, or becoming timed exclusives. Hot of the back of the Tomb Raider announcement, and a lot of angry fans of the series I decided it was time to comment about exclusivity. Over the years exclusives have done very little for me, I won't go out of my way to play them if I don't have access to them. I do consider myself a general consumer up to a certain point, but there's a rather defined line that I won't cross. Over the years we've seen many exclusive titles come and go, some old and some new. Over the last generation we've seen many IPs come with exclusivity, Gears of War, Uncharted, Killzone, Halo and so on, but it there's just some things that just don't make sense to me. If there's a new IP and it's exclusive to a platform, I see no problem with pushing the title as hard as the publishers want, it makes sense as exclusive titles are set in stone through various contracts and agreements before the game is even announced. These sorts of deals have their place and make a lot…
Impressions: Destiny Beta...
As one of the privileged few who were given codes to the Destiny Beta (see, everybody who pre-ordered + press) I've been playing it since the Xbox release and now that it's ended, My impressions can be largely summed up with as follows. Bungie has done it again. Following their break from microsoft and Halo, Destiny is Bungie's first release and it coming for current and last gen consoles with a PC release later next year. Returning to their roots, Destiny is a sci-fi fps shooter set in the distant future, breaking from the standard formula, Destiny not only functions as a quick paced, shooter but combines elements of MMORPGS, and to be absolutely honest, the blending is truly seamless. The game opens with a simple single player tutorial, through a rundown russian facility, introducing one of the enemy factions as well as your main companion, the ghost(voiced by Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones). Character customization is limited to the race, gender and facial features of the character but leaves plenty of room to make a character that is unique, although these facial features only seemed to be noticeable in the game's hub area, The Tower. This opening scene provides…
Resident Evil Remake HD Remastered Annou...
Capcom have just announced Resident Evil Remake HD Remastered which will release in early 2015 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Resident Evil Remake was originally on the Nintendo Gamecube (later ported to the Wii), as the name suggests it's a remake of the first game of the series which was originally on Playstation.  With extra pieces of story and gameplay mechanics thrown in. In the HD remaster, graphics are improved as well as gameplay, you can play it where you have the analog stick do the movement and have it so the camera will scroll as you move around the stage, you do have the option to play with the original controls if you want though. It's a great start to the series for those who never got the chance to play the first game and I look forward to playing through this again as well. The game will be digitally disputed. Here's the official website for more information.
