Golden Boy
Discover the Shrine in the Terme di Traiano.

Once you arrive in Rome you will need to complete several basic missions, then you will meet with Niccolo Machiavelli. One of his quests will be to meet with a messenger and take the message he is delivering. Once you collect the message from the runner you will need to head to the ruins. Once there you will be ambushed by a clan. Enter a secret passage which will be marked on your map. Make your way through the ruins, at the end you will find several chests, one of which is sitting on an altar. Once you open the chest and read the scroll, you will be rewarded with the achievement for finding the Shrine in the Terme di Traiano.

Undertaker 2.0
Discover the Shrine in the Catacombe di Roma.

To discover the Shrine in the Catacombe di Roma, you will need to travel into the middle of the Antico district and look for a large pyramid which is built around a wall. To the right of the pyramid you will find a small tunnel entrance. Run up to the tunnel and interact with it to enter the next part of the Romulus challenge.

Gladiator
Discover the Shrine in II Colosseo.

This one is a little more obvious than some of the others, to find the entrance to this Shrine you need to enter the Colosseum. Depending on where you enter you will see the Romulus wolf head icon on the left hand side on your map. Look for the entrance and continue through the maze of puzzles to collect the next scroll.

Plumber
Discover the Shrine in the Cloaca Maxima.

Before you set out looking for this entrance, you will need to locate the French camp, just next to the camp is a large drop into a pool of water. You will need to jump onto the ledge and carefully climb down. At some points you will need to drop and grab a ledge below. The entrance is located on a hidden platform under the camp.

One-Man Wrecking Crew
Discover the Shrine in Palazzo Laterano.

To find the entrance to the Shrine in Palazzo Laterano you need to head to far south in the Antico district. You will find a ruined old church, climb to the roof and drop down into the courtyard inside, the entrance in is in north-west corner of the courtyard.

Amen
Discover the Shrine in the Basilica di San Pietro.

You won’t be able to access this area until much later in the game, but you need to head up to the Vaticano district. The entrance to the Shrine is located on the right hand side of the stairs in a large courtyard just in front of the Basilica Di San Pietro. You may enter this area earlier in the game, but you will only be able to enter this area during sequence 7.

Bang!
Destroy the Machine Gun.

Once you meet with Leonardo for the first time, he will tell you that he has created terrible war machines which will be used against the people of Rome unless the Borgia are stopped. Leonardo will give you some information on where to find the Templar Overseer who holds the locations of each machine. There are four in total a Machine gun, Naval Cannon, The Flying Machine and a Tank. The start of these missions will be located with a big L on your map. Head to each location and kill the Templar Overseer with the information. You will then need to proceed to a new area outside of Rome to destroy the machines. You will be rewarded for completing each of these side missions.

Even though you have to track down these machines, the missions aren’t really difficult, but you may find yourself having to complete certain sections several times. Sneaking past the guards can be frustrating if you rush, so take your time and pay attention to where they are.

Boom!
Destroy the Bomber.

See “Bang!”

Splash!
Destroy the Naval Cannon.

See “Bang!”

Kaboom!
Destroy the Tank.

Perfect Recall
Achieve 100% Synchronization with a Sequence.

For this you need to earn 100% synchronization within one of Ezio’s memory sequences. This sounds difficult, but you can replay any memory sequence to try again if you make a mistake. The easiest memory to complete is Sequence 3, there are only four memory parts and they are all fairly simple. You can start to work towards this after memory sequence 1, this one doesn’t count due to it being an introductory part of the game.

Déjà vu
Replay a Memory

You can replay any part of Ezio’s menu from within the Animus, pause the game and select the DNA option from the Animus options. If you want to replay a sequence so that you can achieve 100% synchronicity for “Perfect Recall” then you can pick the sections of each memory and replay them. Select the memory you want and press :a: when instructed to replay that sequence.

Home Improvement
Upgrade 5 buildings in the Antico district.

The Antico district is located in the southern part of the city, just below Ezio’s Hideout. First you will need to liberate the district by lighting the Borgia Towers. After doing so, you will then be able to make your way around to all the shops/building markers on the map and press :y: to unlock/upgrade them. Once you have unlocked several of these places the achievement will unlock. If it doesn’t unlock straight away, complete the thieves guild mission, once you complete it you will need to renovate the guild and turn it into an Inn. Doing so will unlock the achievement.

Brotherhood
Recruit 3 Assassins.

During sequence 4 you will be required to find and hire new Assassin’s. To do this you need to find their markers on the map and help them defeat the guards holding them hostage. After killing the guards talk to the new recruit and they will join your Brotherhood. Go to each of the makers on your map pointing out new potential Assassin’s and help them. After you help your third new recruit the achievement will unlock.

Once you have recruited your Assassin’s you can call of them for help at any time by pressing :lb:, you can’t call them if your assistance meter is empty, but it will slowly fill back up after every use.

Welcome to the Brotherhood
Train a recruit up to the Rank of Assassin.

Once you have recruited your new Assassin’s you will be able to train them. To do this you will need to locate one of the Assassin Tower (formerly Borgia Towers) and enter one. Once you enter an Assassin Tower you will be able to decide what missions your new Assassin’s do. The more Assassin’s you have, the more you can send out to complete the various missions. You can have up to 12 Assassin’s at any one time, just as long as you have destroyed the Borgia Towers and converted them.

Every time you send an Assassin(s)on a mission  you will earn XP for each one. The more missions you send your Assassin(s) on the more XP they earn thus raising their level. You may also use your Assassin’s in battle by pressing the :lb: as long as you haven’t sent them all off to do their own missions. You need to get at least one of your Assassin’s to level 10 which is the highest rank.

Every time your Assassin’s level up you will be able to reward them with new armor and weapons. Just make sure that you send enough Assassin’s to complete a mission, if you’re not sure how well their success rate will be, always send another Assassin with them.

Once one, or several of your Assassin’s reach level ten, return to Ezio’s Hideout to watch them become part of the Brotherhood. After the cut-scene has finished the achievement will unlock.

Collectible Related

.. .- –.- .-.. .. …- .
Solve all of Subject 16’s Puzzels.

There are 10 different puzzles to solve throughout Rome. You can find them by using eagle vision when you’re close to their location. You may stumble across them, but they can be quite tricky to find without any aid. Once you do find a Cluster you will need to climb up to it, then make your way inside.

You can find all the locations using this guide.

Capture the Flag
Remove All Borgia Flags in Rome.

If you have played through Assassin’s Creed then you will have fond memories of the 500 or so flags. This time around you will need to find 101 flags hidden around Rome. Some will be hidden and others will be more obvious. Just take your time and look carefully in every single location you visit. If you can hear a glistening sound, you’re most likely close to either a flag, feather or chest.

You can buy maps for all their locations from the various art dealers around Rome, but you will need to finish the game or collect 25 Borgia flags to unlock them at the art dealers. If you want to save your money and use it for something else you can use this guide to locate all the feathers and flags.

In Memorian
Collect All Feathers.

Throughout Rome there are 10 feathers. They can be rather difficult to spot, you can buy a map of all their locations but you will need to to collect 25 Borgia flags to unlock the map. Once the map is unlocked you can buy it from any of the various art dealers around Rome.

Alternatively you can use the guide listed under “Capture the Flag”.

Dust to Dust
Find 1 Artifact in the Present.

You can only do this when you’re able to leave the Animus. If you’re already in the real world, head outside and directly to your left. Climb the wall to the villa and get onto the roof. You will see a sling lift in front of you, climb on and then climb to the highest part of the roof. As soon as you get to the top look to your left and you will see the feather chest in a small damaged part of the roof.

Tower Defense
Burn All Borgia Towers.

Borgia towers are scattered all over Rome, they will be marked on your map with a small tower with a cross. To clear a tower you will need to kill the person in command of that small region. Once you kill them you will be able to climb the tower, light it, then regain the section of the city that was once overrun by the Borgia.

There are 12 towers in Rome, one which you will have to complete as a story objective. You can check to see the Borgia Influence from your map by pressing :rb:.

Challenge Related

Show Off
Complete 10 Guild Challenges.

There are Four guilds, The Thieves, The Courtesans The Assassin’s and The Mercenaries. Each guild has 10 challenges, apart from the Assassin’s Guide which has 5. So there are 35 in total. For this achievement you only need to complete 10 challenges overall. They can be a mix and match between all four guilds. Some of the challenges require some patience but others are quite simple. If you’re stuck on one guild’s challenges, try to do some of the other challenges instead.

Perfectionist
Earn 3 gold medals from the Animus Virtual Training Program.

To access the AVT you need to progress in the story until the Animus has been upgraded. This happens fairly close to the start of the game once you discover Ezios Sanctuary. Once the upgrades are complete you will be shown a brief tutorial on how to navigate and use the training. You will need to earn a gold medal in any three training programs.

You can also press :start: at any point in time and enter the training, though this will wipe your current unsaved progression. Enter the training grounds, select any three training activities and earn a gold medal in them. Once you have three the achievement will unlock.

Serial Killer
Preform a Speed Kill Streak of 10.

You have several attempts to do this throughout Rome, but if you find yourself stuck without enough guards to fight, or just want to do this quickly then this method is probably the best way. Enter the Animus Training Program, then enter the combat simulator. Here you will be able to select the various kill streak programs. Select the one you feel most comfortable with, I decided to use the short streak for this explanation. Once you enter the program get ready to attack the first guard that enters the arena, once you attack him time pressed of :x: between each guard. This will allow you to perform a quick kill combo.

You can kill several enemies in a row without having to break their guard. Pay close attention to the group of enemies around you as you will need to counter some attacks with :rt: + :x:, if you pull of a quick kill combo, then counter and continue the chain the achievement will unlock at 10 kills.

If you’re hit at any time while fighting you will need to start over. You can do this just about anywhere, but the AVT won’t cost you health or risk dying.

Spring Cleaning
Kill a guard with a broom.

Wander around the city and look for a civilian sweeping the floor, walk over to them and nudge them. They will then drop the broom they are using, allowing you to pick it up with :b:. Once you have the broom look at your mini map and locate a guard. Run up to them and attack them with the broom. You will find the broom is a very useful weapon and effective at killing guards.

Your Wish is Granted
Throw money in a well.

There are wells all over the city, but the first one you have access to it located just east of Ezio’s Hideout. You will have to progress through the story a short while before you get to this point, but once you get here you will be able to roam a far larger area of the city. Once you have removed the shroud over the map within the Gentro District, you will see a marker called the “Empty Faction Building”, just in front of this building you will find a well. Use the :rb: to select coins as your main item, then walk up to the well and press :x: to throw some into the well.

Fly Like an Eagle
Jump with the parachute off the top of Castel Sant’ Angelo.

Before you can attempt this you will first need to complete all four of Leonardo’s side missions. Once you have destroyed all the war machines, return to Leonardo and he will give you the ability to buy a parachute from any tailor around the city. Once you have a parachute you will need to climb to the top of the Castel Sant’ Angelo, which is located in the Vaticano district of the city.

You will visit this building several times through the  story, but you will only be able to access fully until later in the story. Once you have access to the building, climb to the top and jump off. Press :x: on your way down to deploy the parachute. You will need to make your way to the very top of the flag pole for this to count.

The Gloves Come Off
Win the highest bet at the fights.

Before you can take part in fights you first need to unlock them by completing the first Mercenaries Guild mission. You will then be able to rebuild the Barracks. Once you have rebuilt them you can head downstairs to a fighting area. Once you fight your way to the final round, which will be a fight against 5 Mercenaries, bet 500f. You will now need to win the fight against 5 Mercenaries. Once you win the achievement will unlock.

Make sure you always lock on, kick with :A: then quickly attack with :x:. If a Mercenary is dodging every shot, quickly attack another who is behind you. Always counter attacks with :rt: + :x:, then press :x: several times to ensure you take out the Mercenary you just countered. This is a fast an effective way to take one of them out of the fight without wasting time.

Mailer Daemon
Access your email in 2012.

Once the Animus is set up in your new safe location, you can enter and exit it at any point in time. Doing so will return you back to the real world. Stand up from the Animus and turn around, you will see the various statutes, walk over to the Ezio statue and up to the computer. Press any button on your controller to access the computer. Once you access it you will unlock the achievement, you will also be able to read several pieces of information.
