Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Author Notes

If you have played the previous games in the series you will know what you're doing up to a point. Though there are new games and abilities, they're all fairly straight forward and easy to learn. There are also new tutorial sections in the loading screens just in case you need extra practice.

 Fond Memories
Achieve 100% Synchronization in all Sequences.

Over the nine sequences you will need to earn 100% sync in each memory. Most of these memories are fairly simple, and they can also be replayed at any point via pausing the game and using the DNA timeline to select the memory you wish to replay. Some sequences you won’t have to put a lot of effort in to, but the ones which require you to take no damage what so ever can be a little tricky. So be prepared. If you’re having difficulty with the earlier memories, don’t fret, just come back to them later on once you get used to how Ezio and Altair control.

Desmond’s Story

The Early Years The Early Years
Complete Desmond Sequence 1.

Much like the main story achievements/trophies, these will unlock with progression through Desmonds back story which you can access through returning to Animus Island. The only catch here is you will need to find 30 Animus Shards to access all five of Desmonds memories.

These memories give you some history behind Desmond and how he ended up where he is. But the puzzles themselves are rather clunky. You will need to navigate your way through various puzzle rooms using building blocks with can be manipulated to create walkways. On completion of each of these sections you will be rewarded with the related achievement/trophy. You may already know the back story, so these areas may seem fairly obsolete.

Misc Story

A Friend Indeed A Friend Indeed
Complete all Faction Creed Challenges from a single faction.

Much like the previous games, you will find factions spread out throughout the cities. Each faction have a unique ability which you can unlock. With each faction you will have three tiers of challenges which unlock different things. Once you complete all three tiers of challenges in a single faction this will unlock.

Depending on which faction you choose, just stick with their challenges. Most of the challenges are fair simple, but take some time to complete. The assassin’s guild is probably the easiest but most time-consuming as you will need to have seven assassin’s reach the rank of master assassin. This guild also has the least amount of challenges, but it’s all down to personal preferences.

My Protégé My Protégé
Have one trainee reach the rank of Master Assassin.

This is part of the game’s progression as one assassin will reach this rank fairly early on. You will basically need to have 1 assassin reach the rank of 14 which will then allow them to take the Master Assassin training. But as this is part of the stories progression you will unlock this naturally.

See “The Mentor” for further details on leveling your assassin’s.

The Mentor The Mentor
Have seven trainees reach the rank of Master Assassin.

This may take some time, but you will need to have seven (6) of your assassin’s reach the Master Assassin rank. The reason you only need six is due to one being story related. As you start out you will see markers on the map which are black squares with a cross pattern. The symbol looks like a simplified version of the Apple of Eden. As you interact with these memories you will recruit new assassins, for this achievement/trophy make sure you recruit at least 6, but you can have up to 12 assassins at one time with the various dens unlocked.

Once you have your assassin’s ready for training, you can visit any of the various dens you may have captured. Inside you will find a map which will allow you to send your assassin’s on assignments. In doing so the assassin’s you send will earn xp for every assignment they complete.

As you level up each assassin they will reach a cap at rank 10. At this point you will need to start reclaiming dens for your assassin’s to reside at. Once you reclaim a den, your level 10 assassin’s will start to show on the map with new memories for you to complete. Once you complete each of the memories for each assassin you will see their new ranks unlock. From here you can then level them up to rank 14 at 15500xp. Once you hit this amount of xp your assassin will no longer level up, but instead will require you to complete their second memory. In doing so, you will then unlock their Master Assassin rank.

For your assassin to become a Master Assassin you will need to have each of the seven dens unlocked and accessible. Once each assassin reaches this rank, you will no longer have to deal with the den defense game with that den as the assassin will be trained to the highest standards and be able to fend off any attackers.

Iron Curtain Iron Curtain
Perform a perfect den defense without using the cannon.

Fairly early on you will be introduced to the den defense game. You are basically thrown in to combat to protect your first assassin den. You will also earn your first Master Assassin on completion of this task. The game is fairly simple, build defenses, place down an assassin leader and place your guards. This does take some patience and some careful placement. But as long as you’re paying attention to what your enemies are doing, you should be able to fend them off without suing the canon.

If you do happen to fail, you can replay this memory from the DNA sequence. It’s probably the easiest out of the ones you will be faced with. Towards the end the waves will start to get fairly relentless, so make sure you have enough guards ready to take down the moving ram. If the ram gets too close to the assassin den the canon will go off automatically. If you manage to keep the canon back the canon won’t trigger and this will unlock.

Armchair General Armchair General
Control all cities (except Rhodes) simultaneously in the Mediterranian Defense game.

Fairly early on you will encounter the Mediterranean Defense game as you will need to use it to level up your assassin for “The Mentor”. You will send your assassins to remove Templar control over each city. These all vary in difficulty but they get far easier as your assassin’s level up.

Once you have enough will power, you can select the reclaim city assignment. Once a city is reclaimed it will have a white assassin logo instead of the red Templar one. From here you will then need to liberate 12 of the 13 cities. You don’t need to capture Rhodes, but if you do decide to capture it, you will earn extra revenue.

You will need to reclaim the following cities:

  • Alexandria
  • Algiers
  • Bursa
  • Athens
  • Damascus
  • Genoa
  • Jerusalem
  • Lisbon
  • Madrid
  • Marseille
  • Tripoli
  • Tunis

Show-Off Show-Off
Parachute onto a zipline.

You can do this almost anywhere in the city just as long as you’re high enough to deploy your parachute. You will also need to visit a tailor and buy a parachute if you don’t have one. Once you’re in position, jump and press :x: to deploy your chute. Line yourself up with a zipline and then press :b: to drop when you’re ready. If you manage to do this properly you will finish with a graceful slide down to the rooftops below.

Almost Flying Almost Flying
Parachute directly from the top of the Galata Tower to the golden horn.

At the very start of the game once you reach the city you will need to race to the top of the Galata Tower. You can’t really miss it as it’s the only large building in this small island like area at the top of the map. Once you climb to the very stop, jump off and deploy your chute with :x:. From here you need to make your way down to the Golden Horn which is basically the river below. This isn’t the hardest achievement/trophy, but it’s also not the most obvious.

Craft ManiacCraft Maniac
Craft 30 bombs.

This will most likely come with general game progression as bombs play a rather large part in the game. Overall you will be introduced to these almost from the start, but they prove to be rather useful and change your play style slightly. There are three bomb types, lethal, tactical and diversionary. You will most likely find that you only use two or three bomb designs, but they basically all serve the same purpose.

To craft bombs you will need to locate a crafting station, these can be found around the city with white bomb markers, or within the various factions and dens. For this you will need to craft 30 bombs in total. They can be all of the same type, and if your inventory is empty, you can make up to 9 bombs in a single crafting menu.

It’s also possible that you can make further bombs from your inventory wheel while exploring. If your bombs are low and you have the materials, highlight them and press craft :a: to add more of that bomb type.

I can see you I can see you
Kill 5 guards while under the cover of a smoke screen bomb.

Smoke bombs are rather useful to either kill large groups of guards, or for escaping if you’re in trouble. You will obviously need to craft a smoke bomb, use the higher grade gun powder if you have any as this will create a large cloud for you to stun a group of guards. Once you’re ready, find a patrol of guards and aggravate them, the more guards you have chasing you the better. Once you feel you have enough guards press :y: so you throw a smoke bomb at the ground. Now all you have to do is make sure you kill at least five guards before the smoke clears. The fastest way to take down guards quickly is with your hidden blade. In doing so you may also unlock “Lightning Strikes”.

 Lightning Strikes
Kill 5 guards in 5 seconds using only your hidden blades.

See “I can see you”.

Spider Assassin Spider Assassin
Climb Hagia Sofia, from the ground to the pinnacle, in under 25 seconds.

This can be a little annoying to work out as the map marker has one of the towered listed as the main location on your map. If you walk around the building though you will see that there is a far larger building just to the east of the map marker. Once you locate the main building, quickly scramble to the top of the large dome tower at the top of the building and this will unlock.

Bully Bully
Find and beat up Duccio.

Duccio will only show up during sequence four, you will know once you’re able to complete this as you will see a cut-scene where Ezio confronts him and he will run off. Later on you will then find him in the district to the far west. He will be stumbling around drunk which leaves him open as an easy target. Once you locate Duccio, your task is simple, change your primary weapon to fists, then beat him up. If you kill him you this won’t unlock, so make sure you’re using your fists.

Once you have beaten him enough this will unlock and you can carry on your progression as before.

Overkiller Overkiller
Assassinate 50 guards with the hidden blade.

To perform an assassination you will need to sneak up on a guard, or lock on to them from above. Once they are in attacking distance you can press :x: to perform an assassination if you have your hidden blades selected. Once you kill 50 guards in this manner this will unlock. You will most likely get this with general game progression as it’s easier to take guards down with assassinations rather than fighting them up front.

 Fast Fingers
Loot 50 dead guards with thief looting.

At first you may think this requires you to loot 50 enemies, but it’s really something else. With each faction and guild you have a series of challenges. You can see a full list by reading “A Friend Indeed”. You will need to complete set 2 of the thieves guides. This will allow you to hire thieves to steal money from people in the world. Once you have the thieves following you, have your assassin’s kill a group of guards, then stand near their bodies so the thieves loot them for you.

This doesn’t take all that long, and the thieves will steal money from everyone they pass. So you will earn a substantial amount of extra money. Once your thieves have looted 50 dead guards this will unlock. If you’re having difficulty locating thieves, find an empty faction building and turn it into a thieves HQ. You will always fine the thieves sitting on the rooftops near by then.

 Mosh Pit
Have 10 guards poisoned at the same time.

Before you can attempt this you should make a cherry bomb and a datura bomb. Once you have these bombs crafted, head to the south-west corner of the city where you will find several guards patrolling. From here climb the archway and throw the cherry bomb between all the guards. Wait for them to come over and investigate the noise, then throw a datura bomb at them. You may need to use more than one, but if you poison all the guards in this area this will unlock.

 Mouse Trap
Kill 5 guards with a scaffold after they have been stunned by caltrops.

This is probably the most difficult challenge to complete as doing it properly can take some patience and several attempts. You don’t need to take out 5 guards in one go, so you can accumulate the requirements for this. You will first need to make some caltrops which are basically spiked barbs you drop. Once you have this you will then need to locate a scaffold and some nearby guards.

From here select your caltrops, interact with a group of guards and have them chase you towards the scaffold. From here press :y: to set drop a caltrop in front of the scaffold and hope that the guards are close enough. From here you then need to run at the corner of the scaffold while holding :rt:, you can then press :b: as you run past the corner to pull down the scaffold on top of the guards.

It seems that this can be quire tricky to get right so don’t get frustrated if you don’t get it the first time, you may need to repeat this several times to kill 5 guards in total.

 Silent But Deadly
Kill three guards simultaneously with only throwing knives.

Once you have throwing knives in your possession, you can seek out guards to use them on. You will need to look high and low throughout the city to find unarmored guards. But if you manage to find some, this will work the same. If you try to take on Janissaries or armored guards you will just hurt them and not complete the requirements. During your first sequence there are plenty of guards which don’t carry armor so this is the best place to do this without issue.

Once you have three guards in your sight, select your throwing knives from your inventory, then how down :y: while they’re in your throwing radius. This should allow you to lock on to all three guards. Release the knives and hopefully you will kill all three in a single throw which will unlock this achievement/trophy.

 Monster’s Dance
Have a guard incapacitate 3 civilians while he’s poisoned.

Head to a fairly crowded area where there you can find at least one guard standing around. From here you will want to throw gold coins around the guard to a small group of civilians hoard around the guard. From here you can then use a poison dart on the guard and then watch the guard incapacitate three civilians.

 Holy Wisdom
Complete the Hagia Sofia challenge level.

To access this challenge level you must first find all the hidden pages around the city. These pages will show up with a scroll on the map if they’re nearby. But you can also buy a map to locate all the missing pages from a bookstore. Once you find all 10 Ishak Pasha’s memoir pages you will notice there will be a new marker on your map. It’s a hidden entrance on the Hagia Sofia. It’s marked on your maps with a white cross in a black box. Once you enter the challenge room, you need to make your way through the area and locate the armor of Ishak Pasha. Once you reach the end this will unlock and allow you to use the armor from here onward. You will need to complete the challenge room in under 6 minutes, but with some trial and error you should be able to do this without too many issues as the challenge is rather simple.

Complete all Bomb Missions.

Once you arrive in the city you will be introduced to bomb crafting fairly early on. Once you progress through your memories further you will meet an assassin who will teach you various things about the bombs via bomb missions. These are basically a group of eight tutorials showing you how to use each bomb type effectively.

You can come back to this at any point, and Piri Reis will always be marked on your map until these missions are complete. You shouldn’t have any great difficulty with these at all, they’re almost impossible to fail as they’re pretty straight forward.

 Tax Evasion
Get your money back from a Templar tax collector.

To deal with a Templar tax collector you first need to buy at least one bank. At some point you’re going to want several anyhow due to the income you will earn from the city. At some point usually around the mid day bank deposit you will see a red money bag icon moving across your mini map. This can happen almost anywhere in the city, but there are set areas where you can trigger this to happen. This marker is a tax collector. Once you see this icon, you will want to quickly hunt him down, but don’t kill him, just use your fists or hook to grab him.  Once you manage to stop him from running off you will claim back your taxes and rewards yourself with this achievement/trophy.

If you want to trigger this event you will need to wait near a bank of choice and wait for the midday deposit. Usually the collector will show up as soon as the deposit is made. If you own the bank closest to the Hagia Sofia you can wait around for him appear, you can then chase him down in a fairly easy to navigate area.

I’ve seen the tax collector in various places all over the city, but this seems to be the easiest to catch him in. It may not be the best spot for you, but if you do see him and you’re able to catch up with him without guards chasing you, take the time to stop him and reclaim your taxes.

Capped Capped
Collect all animus data fragments.

Much like before you have a large group of collectibles to find. This time around they come in the form of Animus Shards. These shards are hidden all round the city, but they’re fairly obvious to spot. You will also need to locate 30 of these shards to access all of Desmond’s memories on Animus Island.

You can’t buy maps for these items, but once you collect 50 they the rest will be displayed on your map. You shouldn’t need a collectible guide for this, just make sure you pick them up when you see them and reach the required amount to unlock their locations on the map.

Worth A Thousand Words Worth A Thousand Words
Collect all of Ishak Pasha’s memoir pages.

Throughout the city you will find various memoir pages from Ishak Pasha. There are 10 in total which you need to find for this achievement/trophy. Collecting these pages also unlocked the Hagia Sofia challenge level. The pages are relatively well hidden so the best way to find these pages is to collect 25 Animus Shards, then buy a map from one of the book shops. Once you collect all 10 pages you will notice the Hagia Sofia challenge level will be listed on your map, you can then proceed to complete “Holy Wisdom” after you unlock this.

Collect all available books.

Overall there are 24 books to collect, 18 of which need to be bought from Constantinople and Cappadcia book stores. In total you will need to spend around 500,000 coins to buy all the books sold by these merchants. The rest of the books need to be found around the city. You will be given several objectives as you progress the main story which will then allow you to unlock these books. Once the books are accessible you will see them marked on your maker with a black book marker. You will then need to head to these locations and, find the marker, and use eagle sense to locate the hidden book in that area.

Seeing as you need a rather large amount of money to buy these books you should start buying as many shops as you can. This may seem a waste to start with, but you will start earning up to 10,000 coins every 20 minutes depending on how many shops you renovate. You should also take advantage of the Mediterranean defense game. If you take the time to take over cities you will increase your overall earnings which will help greatly.

True Templar True Templar
Reach level 20 (Multiplayer).

Leveling up will come naturally from playing the multiplayer. You’re going to have to put in a moderate amount of time to level up to 20. 136,000+ XP is required, so everything you do will count towards this rank. There are many ways to earn up to 10,000xp per game, but if you want the easier slightly slower method you can play Simple Deathmatch. You can earn up to 8,000 a game as long as you’re taking your time with each kill and earning the full bonuses.

The best thing to do is find a game mode you enjoy, then just progress at your own pace. If you find a mode and method that works best for you, stick with it as this all depends on your play style.

Looking Good Looking Good
Customize a PERSONA (Multiplayer).

To customize your persona you will first need to reach rank 10. This will unlock the first set of customizable items for your characters. Once you reach this rank you can then use the Templar menu to access your characters. It takes time to unlock various items for your characters, but the first is fairly cheap so make sure you have 25 credits before doing this.

Once you have changed one of your characters items, finalize the changes and this will unlock. Customization can be quite useful as your Templar won’t display to others quite the same as their targets pictures, so choose wisely and make a worthwhile choice.

Explorer Explorer
Finish a session of each game mode (Multiplayer).

Overall there are 10 different game modes, half are team based, the other half are free for all. Once you finish a game on each mode this will unlock. You are required to stay until the end of both rounds. If you join a game at the end, you may have to replay as it doesn’t always count. You can check the leaderboards to see if you have a score. If you’re not listed among your friends or other players, then you will need to replay the modes that you’re missing.

You will need to complete 1 full game on each of the following modes:

Lone Objective:

  • Simple Deathmatch

Free for All:

  • Deathmatch
  • Wanted
  • Assassinate

Team Objective:

  • Steal the Artifact
  • Corruption
  • Manhunt
  • Chest Capture
  • Artifact Assault
  • Escort

There are also two introductory/tutorial modes which you may also need to complete for this. I only completed one and still earned this, but if this doesn’t unlock you will need to complete the following two modes as well:

  • Introductory 1
  • Introductory 2

Make the Headlines Make the Headlines
Obtain 13 different Accolades (Multiplayer).

Accolades are basically rewards that you will get at the end of each game depending on your play style and technique. You will need to hit a set amount of requirements to earn these, most are easy enough so you will earn them while just playing. If you want to earn these without running in to any difficulty vary your attacks as much as possible. Also use various types of cover and always keep moving. If you manage to keep up a creative streak you’re going to walk away with more Accolades than if you just hide in a corner.

You will see your Accolades listed at the end of your match. You can’t miss them as they’re displayed as gold tiles. You can also keep track of these via the Templar menu on the multiplayer menu screen.

Tools of the Templar Tools of the Templar
Purchase your first ABILITY in the Abstergo Store (Multiplayer).

This is another achievement/trophy that requires you to level up. Once you hit level 5 you will be given some extra abilities to use in your multiplayer progression. Most of these items are fairly cheap early on, but don’t waste your points, only buy what you think you will find the most useful.

Once you decide what you want, buy it and this will unlock.

The Way I Like It The Way I Like It
Edit your TEMPLAR PROFILE to change your title, emblem, and patron (Multiplayer).

From the very start you can edit your Templar Profile. To do this you will need to access the menu selection by pressing :lb:, then edit profile. Before you can edit your information you will need to reach level 5. From here you can then change your title, emblem and patron details. Once you edit your information and save this will unlock.

There Is No I in Team There Is No I in Team
Win a session of a team mode (Multiplayer).

There are several team game modes, all you have to do for this is join any team game. Then win against the opposing team. Some modes are easier than others, but this all depends on how good your team is overall.

Tactician Tactician
Score at least 2505 points in a session (Multiplayer).

Though this may seem like it could be a tough challenge, it’s really not. Almost every game you play should reward you with a minimum of 2,000 points. This is all dependent on your player skill, but if you run around and make it obvious that you’re killing your target you won’t be rewarded with higher amounts of points.

If you want to earn a lot of points without putting too much effort into this, play the Simple Deathmatch mode. In this mode you can see all the players and the crowds don’t mimic their appearance. If you want to earn high point kills in this mode, find an area high up which will allow you to perform air assassinations. Most players will just walk around so once you spot your target, you can assassinate them with a high score bonus.

Complete a Challenge (Multiplayer).

Challenges will provide you with an alternative way to earn XP over killing your target or stunning your pursuer. There is a rather extensive list of challenges, but most will come with playing the game modes. There are several easy challenges, but if you’re just progressing through the various modes and game types, this should come naturally.
