Summary:
Unlike all the previous DLCs for New Vegas, this one adds something a little different. You will find several new weapons, but the rest of this DLC is a new set of challenges for you to complete. These will be active from the start of the game, and require you to complete a set amount of kills with different weapons. Weapon challenges have a different requirement and difficulty setting, so be prepared to spend some time hunting down enemies to kill.
Author Notes:
You can keep track of all your progress from the MISC tab on your pip-boy. you will need to complete several challenges with each of the three star types. You will be updated of your progress as you complete each challenge. If you're quite far in the game you may find that you have cleared a fair amount of the map and killed almost everything humanly possible. If you're at this stage, you may need to revert back to an older game save, or even start over with a new game.

Curios and Relics
Caused 10,000 damage with unique Mojave Wasteland weapons.

There are plenty of unique weapons found through the Mojave, some are more common than others, but these weapons are rare items that you will normally need to hunt for. These items normally have a unique name as well, so rather than picking up a missile launcher for instance, you have Annabelle which is a far more powerful alternative of the missile launcher. You can also buy several unique GRA based weapons which count for this and “Master of the Arsenal”. If you have the caps pay a visit to the gun runners or check in with several traders around the wasteland to see if they have any unique weapons.

Once you have your weapon of choice, you can then use it as intended until you earn 10,000 points worth of damage. If you’re having difficulty finding a unique weapon, as mentioned visit the Gun Runners outside of the strip and buy yourself one of the unique variants.

Here is a short list of variants that you may find at the vender outside the strip:

  • Bozar
  • Cleansing Flame
  • Esther
  • Gehanna
  • Greased Lightning
  • Medicine Stick
  • MF Hyperbreeder Alpha
  • Paciencia
  • Sleepytyme
  • Smitty Special
  • Sprtel-Wood 9700
  • Two-Step Goodbye

These are just a few of the new weapons that come with the DLC addition. But all unique weapons that you find in the game also count towards this. So check through your inventory as you will most likely find out that you have already discovered. You can also visit The Thorn arena to test our your weapons and earn yourself some easy damage points by going up against three large rad scorpions every round.

Master of the Arsenal
Caused 10,000 damage with Gun Runners’ Arsenal (GRA) Weapons.

This is a rather straight forward task, much like the previous 10,000 damage achievements/trophies in the series. You will need to buy one of the GRA marked weapons from the gun runners or various traders. Once you have one of these weapons you can then use it to inflict damage on whoever and whatever you like until you reach this required amount of damage points.

The fastest method I’ve found without disrupting the various factions requires you to find The Thorn and buy one of the explosive GRA weapons. From here you can then enter the The Thorn arena and fight three large rad scorpions at a time and earn yourself roughly 200 points of damage every round. This may seem quite tedious but your alternative is to buy several GRA marked weapons and use them as you progress through the game. I’ve found The Thorn to be more rewarding and faster though, but it’s all down to personal preference.

Up to the Challenge
Completed any three Gun Runners’ Arsenal (GRA) one star (*) Challenges.

The follow challenges require you to complete at least three GRA challenges per difficult. These all vary and some require you to kill plot characters. If you’re at the point in the game where you’re missing out enemies to kill or plot characters to deal with, then you may need to revert to an older save to complete these challenges.

Most of the challenges are straight forward enough, but be prepared to buy a lot of stimpacks and doctors bags as some of them can be a little tricky to pull off. Next to see challenge you will see a number, this number indicates how many enemies you need to kill to complete each challenge. Some challenges can be quite difficult, but if you save your game an aim to complete three of each challenge type than you think and the most straight forward, you shouldn’t have any difficulty with these.

Most of the challenges are straightforward and require little effort to complete, but there are several three star challenges which tend not to track your progress. If you run into this issue then revert to another challenge as it’s going to take a lot of effort to get it to work.

You’re also going to need a fairly decent amount of caps to buy some of the various weapon types

Ne Ne Ne Ne (5)
Cripple Right Arms with Shotguns.

Overkill (20)
Kill Animals with any Fat Man or Fat mines.

A Slave Obeys (1)
Kill Mr. House with a 9 iron or Nephi’s golf driver.

Benifit or Hazard (15)
Kill Robots with 5.56mm pistols.

The Same Could Be Said of All Religious Weapons (15)
Kill Feral Ghouls with Maria, Gehenna, and Holy Frag Grenades.

You don’t belong in this world (10)
Kill Abominations with Katanas, Dynamite, Machetes, Throwing Spears, Throwing Knives, and Throwing hatchets.

Combat Veteran
Completed any three Gun Runners’ Arsenal (GRA) two star (**) Challenges.

See “Up to the Challenge” for further information regarding these challenges.

Sic Semper Tyrannis (1)
Kill President Kimball with any One-Handed Pistol.

Nyan! See? (10)
Kill Chairmen, White Gloves, or Omertas with any submachine gun, light machine gun, or minigun.

Talk about Owned (1)
Kill Benny with his own gun, Maria.

Vault 13′s Revenge (15)
Kill Super Mutants with 5.56mm Pistols, Plasma Defenders, Plasma Grenades, Power Fists, Rippers, or the Bozar.

Dyin’ Ain’t Much of a Living (5)
Kill members of NCR or Legion hit squads with weapons affected by the Cowboy perk.

Even a God-King can Bleed
Cripple Caesar’s head with Throwing Spears.

Historical Propriety (1)
Kill Caesar with a Knife or Combat Knife.

White Line Nightmare (20)
Kill Fiends, Vipers, or Jackals with Tire Irons, Baseball Bats, Lead Pipes, Machetes, .44 Magnum Revolvers, or Sawed-Off Shotguns.

Pros Only
Completed any three Gun Runners’ Arsenal (GRA) three star (***) Challenges.

See “Up to the Challenge” for further information regarding these challenges.

Some of the challenges can be a little iffy, so if your stats aren’t counting, you’re better off trying to complete another challenge. The Deathclaw Pro Hunter and Crackerjack seem to be the ones that cause the most issues. But I recommend completing Crackerjack as it seems that Deathclaws no longer respawn on a regular basis.

Against all Tyrants (10)
Kill any named Legion members with Hunting Revolvers, Ranger Sequoias, Brush Guns, Service Rifles, Hunting Rifles, or Cowboy Repeaters.

Depending on if you have killed the NCR or not, this challenge may seem easier, but can be quite tricky due to this faction having quite tough leaders. If you’re struggling to find named Legion members use this list to locate and kill the 10 required for this challenge.

Armed for Bear (15)
Kill any named NCR Ranger or commissioned officer (Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Colonel, General) with Machetes, Rippers, Chainsaws, Throwing Spears, or Ballistic Fists.

Out of the two factions, this is probably the easier one as most players will try to side with the NCR and not kill the rangers or commissioned offers. If you’re having trouble finding the NCR required for this challenge you can use this list to find 15 different NCR.

Crackerjack Timing (10)
Kill Mojave Wasteland Cazadores with Tin Grenades, Long Fuse Dynamite, and Time Bombs.

There are plenty Cazadores throughout the wastelands, most commonly in the rocky mountain areas, but you can also fight these creatures in The Thorn arena.

Deathclaw Pro Hunter (5)
Kill adult Mojave Wasteland Deathclaws with .22 Pistols, Switchblades, Boxing Tape, Recharger Rifles, or Dynamite.

You may run into issues with this, you may not, but if you do it’s best to avoid this challenge at all costs as you can easily waste a lot of time and resources trying to complete this challenge. If you do so wish to kill deathclaws you can find them in several areas, but you can request to fight them in The Thorn located next to the strip. You will need to complete several side quests to unlock them though.

Man Machine Interface (10)
Kill Mojave Wasteland Mr. Gutsys and Sentry Bots with Brass Knuckles, Spiked Knuckles, Tire Irons, and Lead Pipes.

If you’re further into the game, you can find a small group of Mister Gutsy robots near the crasher vertibird in the south. You can also find two standard Mister Guty’s in the Nellis Airforce Base around the hangers.
