Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide A Season of Merriment
Complete the Wintersday Cheer achievement give times over the course of the Wintersday festival.

This appears to be the new meta achievement for 2016. You will need to complete three daily achievements every day. You will need to repeat this daily requirement five times.

Unlike previous meta achievements, this one is repeatable.

Warming Grawnk’s Heart

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Grawnk Munch
Bring bloodstone delicacies to Grawnk.

As you log into the game you will see you have mail from Orphan Laine. Laine will be asking you to help with the grawl in your home instance. The letter will show you where to go if you’re not sure where to go.

When you arrive, speak with the orphans and the grawl. You will find that Grawnk wants food. You will now have to set off and find Sous-Chef Seimur Oxbone.

Finding Sous-Chef Seimur Oxbone

Before you speak with the chef, you should make sure that you have 1 tiny snowflake, 1 Shiny Frying Pan and 1 Superior rune of Mischief. These items can be bought from the trading post, though you will need to talk to Sentry Triktiki in Arcallion Digs. This is located in the north of Harathi Hinterlands.

After you have these items, you can now start looking for the Sous-Chef. He’s in a different city every day, but you can use the following list to locate him:

  • Monday: The Great Rise (Hoelbrak)
  • Tuesday: Mustering Ground (Black Citadel)
  • Wednesday: Ronan’s Bower (The Grove)
  • Thursday: Dwayna Low Road (Divinity’s Reach)
  • Friday: College of Dynamics (Rata Sum)
  • Saturday: Sanctum Harbor Waypoint (Lion’s Arch)
  • Sunday: Village of Butcher’s Block (Diessa Plateau)

You can only buy one of each item per day, or per reset. You will need to buy the following items and feed them to Grawnk:

  • Bowl of Bloodstone Broth
  • Cup of Bloodstone Soup
  • Chalice of Bloodstone Chili

Once you have one of these items, you will need to take it to Grawnk in your home instance.

For the Children!

After dealing with the grawl, you can then talk to the orphans to unlock the next collection. From here you need to find the six ornaments that the grawl took from the children. Each item in the collection has a clue to their locations, but you basically just need open various jumping puzzle chests. The follow jumping puzzles contain the ornament rewards for their chests:

There’s a lot of jumping puzzles, so you can use this reference to find the ones listed below.

Small Doll Ornament
I think our doll’s inside a golden chest. I dunno how Grawnk even found a chest like that. Must belong to lazy rich people.

  • Weyandt’s Revenge
  • Demongrub Pits Swashbuckler’s Cove
  • Volcanic Fractal (Fractals of the Mists)
  • Skipping Stones

Sparkling Tinsel Ornament
Grawnk rhymed about fancy glass and short ones with sass. An asuran chest, maybe?

  • Spekks’s Laboratory
  • Goemm’s Lab
  • Chaos Crystal Cavern
  • Vizier’s Tower

Purple Ball Ornament
I heard our purple ball’s inside a plant. If it’s a potato chest, bring us back some to eat?

  • Conundrum Cubed
  • Morgan’s Leap
  • Spelunker’s Delve
  • Hidden Garden

Rocking Horse Ornament
Our rocking horse is inside a ‘knotted chest.’ whatever that is. Sounds hard to make without really big hands.

  • Shamans Rookery
  • King Jalis’s Refuge
  • Shattered Ice Ruins
  • Wurmhowl Spikes
  • Tribulation Rift Scaffolding

Gold Ball Ornament
We were gonna sell the gold ball for food after Wintersday, so Grawnk hid it real good. He said something about corrupted wood and sea smells.

  • Buried Archives
  • Scavenger’s Chasm

Green Ball Ornament
If you know what ‘ook-ooh, iron’s the clue’ means, that’s where Grawnk hid our green ball.

  • Branded Mine
  • Pig Iron Quarry
  • Loreclaw Expanse
  • Behem Gauntlet

Congratulations, if you’ve made it this far you’ve now earned yourself the Star of Gratitude.

 Ho-Ho-Tron Events

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Golden Generosity
Donate gold to Ho-Ho-Tron in Divinity’s Reach.

Ho-Ho Tron can be found in the western part of the Crown Pavilion. You will need to give 3 gold to him total to earn this achievement. You do this by interacting with him, and donating through his dialog.

Depending on how full the map is, you may want to come back at off period hours, or wait for his event to reset. Due to how many people fill this map in the first few days, it can be tedious trying to make the donations unless you’re quick.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Silver for the Season
Donate silver to Ho-Ho-Tron in Divinity’s Reach.

This is basically the same as “Golden Generosity”, but instead you give silver three times instead.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Donation Defender
Successfully escort Ho-Ho-Tron’s dolyak to the gate in Divinity’s Reach.

After donating money to Ho-Ho-Tron, a meter will fill. After it is full you will then need to escort Ho-Ho Tron and the Dolyak to deliver presents. On your journey, you will have to defend the Dolyak from groups of Skritt. To defend you need to press F on the Skritt to kick them out-of-the-way.

Keep escorting the Dolyak until it reaches the destination at the top of the stairs.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Finders Keepers
Pick up 25 dropped presents while escorting a donation dolyak in Divinity’s Reach.

While defending the Dolyak it will randomly drop presents as it progresses. You will need to do this event several times as the Dolyak only drops a few gifts per run. Keep repeating until you have all 25 collected.

Tixx’s Workshop Events

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Disassembly
Defeat misbehaving Wintersday toys while helping Tixx run the workshop or exploring Tyria.

You can complete the requirements for this in either workshop event. So you will earn this either playing Toypocalypse, or the general workshop. You will need to destroy 100 toys to earn this achievement.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Honorary Krewe Member
Defeat Toxx in Tixx’s workshop in Divinity’s Reach.

Toxx will spawn at the end of Tixx’s Infinirarium after you’ve completed all the other tasks. He’s fairly easy to defeat, though he does have a few devastating attacks. He will randomly teleport around the dungeon area while you’re attacking him.

Once the dungeon is complete, this will unlock and reward you for your progress.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Wintersday Wrecking Ball
Destroy every miniature piece of Tixx’s toy diorama in Tixx’s Infinirarium

To earn this you need to make sure you’re in the workshop event and not Toypocalypse. Once you enter, ignore starting the event and head down to the diorama below. You will need to destroy every tree, building and object. There are a few objects that cannot be destroyed, so move on if the objects won’t break.

I highly recommend bringing weapons you can cleave with. You can use other weapons, but they tend to make this take a lot longer, where as weapons that cleave destroy the diorama a lot faster.

Carefully work your way through the diorama smashing everything in sight. If you think you’ve broken everything, but don’t have the achievement, look back through the area.

Note: There is a known bug where a wall in the far right corner tends to bug. If this happens, you will need to leave, re-enter and start over.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Dolyak Defender
Survive Toypocalypse with at least one living gift dolyak.

Once you enter Toypocalypse you will need to defend four dolyaks in the center of the diorama. You will need to defend the four dolyaks against 10 waves of enemies. These enemies slowly increase in difficulty as the encounter progresses. There will need to be at least one dolyak standing at the end of the encounter. You can heal them by feeding them between rounds.

This is fairly simple, just build a lot of catapults and snow walls around the dolyaks.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Nothing but Broken Toys
Survive 50 waves of Toypocalypse.

This may sound like a lot, but it’s relatively quick. You just need to play through Toypocalypse until this unlocks. You will earn this when you reach 15 or so rounds played of this game mode.

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Toypocalypse Survivor
Successfully complete 30 rounds in Toypocalypse.

To complete 30 rounds of Toypocalyse you will need to play 3 full defense games composed of 10 rounds each. Each full defense run can take up to 30 minutes to complete.

Wintersday Events

Guild Wars 2 Merry Wintersday Festival Achievement Guide Ringing the Right Notes
Play the correct notes 500 times in Bell Choir Ensemble.

This may take a little practice, but it’s not too difficult. Once you enter, pick which section you’d like to play. Make sure you zoom your camera out all the way, and center it with a top down view of the note charts.

From here you need to hit 500 notes by pressing 1-4 and 6-9 in the correct order when they reach the blue ring in the middle of the chart board.

Note: Keep in mind that this instance tends to have issues with lag. If you’re hit by a lag spike, you will miss the odd note. If this happens, don’t get frustrated as it is beyond your control.
