Where’s Balthazar?

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide With Friends Like These…
Activate all the runes around the exemplar while she’s trapped in the White Mantle hideout.

Once you reach the captive Shining Blade, you will need to release her. There are two ways to do this, one is to break all the bloodstone magic imprisoning her. The other is to activate all the shards and overload the prison.

For this achievement you need to overload the prison by activating all the shards at once. When you activate/deactivate a shard, it will do the same for the two shards beside the one you activated.

The most straight forward way to figure this puzzle out is to have 3 deactivated shards next to each other. Once you get to that point, throw a shard at the central shard location to activate all three. This also works for the other method of deactivation of the prison.

Destroy All Statues in the White Mantle Hideout.

There are 16 statues in total. You will have to traverse the instance to reach them all, including access to the boss. These statues don’t have a health bar, so you won’t know you can destroy them at first unless you do it by mistake.

Attack each statue until it breaks. Break all 16 statues for this achievement. Breaking one will earn you”Graffiti Artist”.

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide King Crab
Kill the king crab in the cave

Before you climb up the cliff side using the bouncing mushrooms, head into the water. At the very bottom close to the foot of the fort above, you will find the king crab lurking in a tiny cave. Kill the crab and the achievement will unlock. This crab may appear in a few different locations, but most commonly it will be in the same place. If you don’t find it, swing around until you do.

Kill the White Mantle guarding the second crystal shard without letting them call reinforcements.

At the second crystal the fight will begin, and one of the enemies will start to run off. Quickly immobilize him and kill him before he can reach the reinforcements.

Proceed to kill the shard protectors and the shard.

Kill the White Mantle Reinforcements after preventing them from being called.

After clearing the second crystal and stopping the enemy from reaching the reinforcements. Head down the passageway and kill the remaining enemies standing in a small campsite.

Kill Justiciar Araya without letting her summon any unstable elements.

After removing the barrier between yourself and Araya you will need to fight her. During periods of the fight she will start to channel the shard. Stop her by using Crowd Control skills to break her defiance bar. Inflicting high damage also seems to work well too. A third alternative is to throw the various bloodstone shards that the little elementals drop.

Stop her from completing the channeling and kill Araya to earn the achievement.


Shining Blade Secrets

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Precision Blade
Kill 50 White Mantle Invaders at the Henge of Denravi.

There’s a counter in the top right corner of your screen during this instance. Killing 50 enemies is fairly straight forward, however they become tougher as the fight goes on. If you’re working towards “Hold the Line”, then this may come with progression towards that achievement. Just kill as many enemies as possible.

Note: It’s highly possible that this is currently bugged.

Survive the assault on the Henge of Denravi for at least 5 minutes.

This is a tough achievement. You can bring party members with you, however they’re stuck on a platform above you. They’re only able to throw grenades to stun enemies below. This can be useful, but you’re reliant on your NPC allies to pose as cannon fodder for this fight.

You may want to bring some sort of survival gear for this. These enemies are rather tough and the further you progress on the timer, the harder they become. You can however revive your allies on the ground using your special action key.

The most straight forward way to earn this is by kiting either of the first two waves of enemies. Doing so ensures you survive and take less damage.

Make sure you dodge the large AoEs that spawn, and try kiting your enemies.

Complete both Fearless and Fearful achievements.

At the end of the instance you will face Self-Doubt. There are two ways to fight this enemy. One is to fight your enemy head on without help. This will earn you the “Fearless” achievement. During the fight there will be visions of your companions that appear around the area. Interacting with them will give you a special action key option. Using this option will allow you to stun your enemy and give you an advantage, also earning you “fearful”.

Note: You can only earn one of these achievements per run.

Defeat the Manifested of Self-Doubt in the Shining Blade headquarters without using Minor Breakthrough for help.

See “Two Sides, Same Coin”.

This can be extremely tough for power based classes. You need to dodge as much as possible and break the defiance bar when able. Try to avoid weapon swapping due to the long cool-down you’re punished with. Using range gives you some advantage, but a condition based class may be a better option for this fight if you have one.

This can be a frustrating fight without using the aid of your the Minor Breakthrough. try to keep your distance and use range attacks.

Note: Any party members you bring into this fight won’t be able to assist you. They won’t have access to any skills while being stuck on a platform above.

The Last Chance

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Lightfoot
Traverse Abaddon’s reliquary without any member of your party taking damage from the fire traps.

At the start of the instance you will enter a room with fiery floor panels. Your goal here is to light the power sources using the energy on the other side of the room. You will need to make your way across the floor without being burned.

This is fairly simple, just watch the patterns for a moment to see where the safe spots are. Pick up the power cores and make you way back across without standing on the lit panels.

Note: Alternatively you can have a Mesmer portal you across the room making this easier.

Achieve victory within nine minutes of starting the final battle

This boss has several different phases. The first involves you using Crowd Control skills on the Eye to reveal the aspects that are moving around the room. Doing so causes a white AoE to appear, which reveals their true form. From here you need to kill them quickly.

When the last two aspects are left, they will be in-cased in a protective bubble. Protect the NPC as she channels the bubble. Once the shield is removed, quickly kill each aspect that spawns.

In the final phase you will be fighting the main boss. From here the room will fill with more lightning AoEs which you should avoid. The boss will also pulse poison clouds in a bullet hell fashion.

Note: I recommend bringing high DPS, and lots of crowd control for this fight. Having a few party members also makes this a lot easier if you’re struggling with the timer.

Succeed without taking damage from lighting.

During the last boss of this episode, there will be an attack that places lots of small AoEs around the area. This will start during phase 2 of the boss and continue until the end. Watch your feet and move around carefully. This attack intensifies in the final phase so be mindful otherwise you may be caught off guard.


Collectibles

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Student of Bartholos
Find all the sections of Bartholos’s seminal work.

After completing the Shining Blades Secrets stay in the instance. Leave the two NPCs behind and head into the hideout. Throughout the hideout there are 10 sections of this book you need to find. Most are on plain sight, however some are hidden in bookshelves and in within trunks.

These pages are easy enough to find. Just click on and interact with everything you can inside the building. Look in trunks, on beds, bookshelves and the table downstairs. There is one book that is a little tricky to interact with on the large table, just double-click to interact instead of using F.

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Risen Research
Collect the lost journal entries.

In total there are seven lost journal entries to be found. There’s also a connection to “Pruning the Weed” and “The Withered Rose”. Using the map below you can find all the lost journal entries. After collecting all seven entries, you then need to head to the Overgrown Gazeobo point of interest. Here you will find the Kingpin for “Pruning the Weed”.

Killing the Kingpin will reward you “Pruning the Weed”, it will also allow you to finish “The Withered Rose. Collect the diary from the fallen salvari on the eastern side of the Gazebo, then return it to Dahlia who can be found near the spring in Risen Lowlands.

If you’ve not spoken to her before, she will give you the dialog about a missing companion. Talk to her a second time to hand her the journal and complete “The Withered Rose”.

You Put an End to the Kingpin

The Kingpin is located in the Overgrown Gazebo. You can only attack this enemy who appears friendly once you have collected all the lost risen journal entries. Killing him will reward this achievement.

During “Where’s Balthazar”? there are 6 hidden notes from Araya. Some of these notes aren’t visible, so you will be interacting with invisible items.

Water Damaged Letter

Located in the small watery cavity at the start of the area. This item is not visible.

Initiate’s Journal

The body of this initiate is located above the main entrance to the instance. You can reach this item by gliding and using the bouncing mushrooms.

Torn Letter

Found on the body of a dead White Mantle member inside the starting area.

Inventory Sheet

Found on a crate just to the right after entering the area with the imprisoned Shining Blade.

Burned Letter

Found on a box near where there the reinforcement camp is found.

Araya’s Journal

Found next to the platform after collecting the item from the shard.

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Master Storyteller
Complete all the parables of the gods.

Throughout Siren’s Landing there are Parable tablets for you to collect. The following map detailed all their locations. These locations are color coded to each achievement.

  • Dwayan (Green)
  • Grenth (Blue)
  • Balthazar (Red)
  • Lyssa (Yellow)
  • Melandru (Orange)

After completing this collection, head to the Hidden Reliquary. Just north you will find the Priest of Abaddon. Give him the books, and a second part of this collection will unlock.

Misc

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Roll for Greed
Open 10 chests in Abaddon’s reliquary.

Abaddon’s Reliquary is located in the middle of the map. After activating all the other Reliquary’s for the first time, you will then be allowed to enter. To enter you simply stand on the middle of the large structure and the floor will open.

You can only open two chests daily, one for free, and a second for 1 gold 50 silver. It will take you five days to get this achievement. Before you can enter the Reliquary, you will also need to complete all five renowned hearts on the map.

Note: If you log in with alt characters you can complete this within one day if you have five or more characters.

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Feeling Beastly
Capture the gargantuan beast.

Along the shoreline just  north-west of the starting waypoint you will find a point of interest called Camp Winfred. Every so often the NPC Winfred will have a quest to capture a beast. Escort him west and north of Melandru’s Reliquary. Here you will find a Gorilla that turns into a giant worm like creature.

Help Winfred capture the creature and this will unlock the achievement.

Stop the unchained Giant from killing the oakheart.

Around Melandru’s Reliquary you will find a oakheart called Willowdread. This oakheart roams the area, and every so often he will clash with a giant. When this happens, an event will spawn where your help will be required to make sure the oakheart doesn’t die. Kill the giant without the oakheart dying, and this will unlock.

Fly through the wyvern’s ring attack without getting hit

In Dwayna’s Reliquary you will find the wyverns den. This enemy will spawn on a fairly regular basis. As a defense this enemy will roar and fire a giant green set of toxic rings at you. Your goal for this achievement is to glide through the rings without being hit by the attack. As long as you don’t get hit by the moving rings, this will unlock after the attack.

Reach the top of the tower.

This jumping puzzle is located on the eastern side of the map at Pilaster Rock. This jumping puzzle will take some patience, however it’s far easier than a lot of the recent jumping puzzles.

Find and use the diving goggles on the highest shopwreck.

Before you can attempt this, you first need to climb to the top of Abaddon’s Ascent. A large tower on the eastern side of the map at Pilaster Rock. Once at the top, you can climb up the mast at the very front of the ship and collect the diving goggles. From here you can dive off and land in the ocean below.

Guild Wars 2 One Path Ends Achievement Guide Siren’s Landing Insight: Cliff’s Edge
Discover this Mastery Insight in Siren’s Landing

You will need to collect one of the dwayna artifacts first. Once you have this, you can reach Cliff’s Edge and Dwayna’s Tears by using the updrafts. Skill 3 with this gliding ability will allow you to speed through the air. You can do this to reach several updrafts. Keep in mind that the updrafts are on a timer. They will expire and re-appear every so often.

This can be a little tedious to start with, but if you have patience and wait for them to re-spawn it’s fairly straight forward.

Out of all the Insights on this map, this is by far the hardest to reach. Unless a Mesmer portals you to this locations. The only way to reach this insights which is located at The Buoyat Bough, is through climbing half way up the jumping puzzle and gliding over. When you do so, be careful to land right on the insight, as there’s no way to reach it if you happen to land on top of the boat and miss the raised up landing point.
