Long Live the Lich

Author Notes

There are quite a few collections this time around, nothing too complicated just extremely time consuming.

There are a few issues with the temples rewarding progress towards "The Tyrian Service Medal", there seems to be several ways to progress the requirements but there's no consistent method that seems to work for everyone.

Failing defense events, along with retaking some temples works, where it doesn't work for all of them.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideSquish, Squish
Kill all the Scarabs in 30 seconds or less.

After speaking with Gorrik and Tami a the docks, head to lord farren and waste for the cut-scene. After the scene finishes Scarab AoEs will be placed all over the area. Quickly destroy them by jumping on them or by using a mount. Complete this in 30 seconds and the achievement will unlock.

Note: You must first complete Be My Guest before you can attempt this achievement.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideStay Asleep, Sheep
Keep Istari the inexorable from Awakening your allies.

Once you meet Istari, fight her until she hits 50%. During the fight she will try to summon farrens nobles, stop her by breaking the defiance bar. Failure to do so will result in her resurrecting the nobles to fight by her side.

This is simple enough, but I recommend using hard crowd control skills to make sure you don’t miss this as not breaking it in time will result in a failure.

Note: You must first complete Be My Guest before you can attempt this achievement.

Forearmed Is Forewarned

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideSilent but Deadly
Never raise suspicion to the point that champions are deployed against you.

Once you start the chapter, complete all the objectives without being seen by too many enemies. As long as you stay away from the main roads and don’t alert too many enemies to your position this is fairly straight forward.

Just follow the instructions to destroy the trebuchets and plant the seed walls. From here return to the town and complete this part of the story to unlock the achievement.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideDecimation
Kill 6 Awakened with a single bomb blast.

After speaking with Canach you’re given a task to complete, destroy several markers on the map. If you ignore the goals you can head to either entrance of the stronghold. Enemies spawn in mass in these areas. Once you’ve found at least six enemies, get them to notice you and run around them so they cluster up. From here just place the bomb with skill 7 and kill at least 6 enemies at once.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideGlory Hog
Plant seeds at all the locations before Canach has a chance to help.

There are four main areas where the vine walls seeds are planted. Two on the Eastern side, and two on the western side of the map. Canach will make his way to the eastern markers, as soon as you collect the bombs, use your skill 4 teleport to beat him to the two locations. Plant both walls then head back to the two you agreed to do.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideTrip the Quantum Fantastic
Disorient 25 Awakened with the Quantum Mass Displacement Matrix.

Once you earn the “Quantum Mass Displacement” option, find an isolated enemy on the map. From here draw hostility against them, then teleport around them in a circle. Once you teleport four times the enemy will become dizzy and progress the achievement. Repeat this 25 times to fully complete it.

You can also do this with multiple enemies at once.

Be My Guest

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideWhistling in the Dark
Successfully defend Canach while he arms the bomb in under six minutes.

At the start of the instance Canach will place a bomb on the gate, hold off enemies while he’s doing this. This is straight forward enough, just kill everything until he’s done. A champion will spawn and Canach will join the fight shortly after.

There doesn’t appear to be any way to fail this achievement, just kill everything in sight.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideDexterous and Flexible
Avoid every laser trap in the Moon Fortress.

As you progress the instance you will come across a ring that reveals various illusions and traps. Further down the path you will enter a room where Braham will say he doesn’t like empty rooms and mention the ring. From here you need to use the ring to show the buttons on the walls. Along with the various laser traps. Activating the buttons will open the exit door, along with disrupt the lasers so you can bypass them when they malfunction.

There is a second room that follows after this one that also contains fire and lasers at the same time. Carefully navigate this area, there are plenty of checkpoints if you die to the fire.

The last room with a boss fight also has lasers, so be careful not to touch them. There are four in total. The achievement will unlock after this fight is concluded.

This is fairly simple, though be careful jumping over lasers as it’s easy to misjudge the jump and void the achievement.

Note: It is possible to use shadow steps, blinks and even sand swell to bypass the lasers without being hit.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideCaptive Audience
Listen to all of Joko’s Taunts.

As you progress through the instance Joko will be taunting you with various insults. Stop and listen to everything he has to say before moving on, you can trigger extra dialog if you make mistakes during the laser rooms. Doing this will void the “Dexterous and Flexible” but it will unlock the achievement before you reach the boss.

Domain of Kourna

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuidePond Scum
Slay the crazed broodmother at Ntouka Pond

The Broodmother is a champion that spawns around Ntouka Pond. This powerful drake is a Legendary level champion that lurks around the pond. The achievement is simple, kill this legendary creature and claim your reward.

If this creature isn’t active, swim down to the mastery point at the bottom of the pond. You will see a cluster of “Mysterious Eggs”. Collect an egg then swim to the surface, this will cause the Broodmother to spawn and fixate on you. These eggs may not be active, so wait for them to reset or come back later if they’re not.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideStill Waters Run Deep
Swim to the deepest point of Ntouka Pond.

At the very northern part of the map you will find Ntouka Pond. Look for the point of interest and the mastery point. Swim down to the Mastery Point below and the achievement will unlock once you reach the bottom.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideTaking All Their Secrets
Loot the Inquest lab 10 times.

This is related to the meta event inside the Moon Fortress. After the event is complete, there is a small room with several chests. Looting all the chests to earn progress towards this. You need to do this 10 times to earn the achievement.

After completing the meta you should find the access key in your inventory. If you don’t, it means you failed to gain credit from finishing off the asura champion before it dies. There is a room with a teleport near the meta reward chest to reach the room. If you happen to not gain the access key, you can also use portals to access this room and gain credit.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideThing That Wouldn’t Leave
Overstay your welcome in the Awakened Inquest plague research lab.

This lab is well hidden north of Dabiji Hollows. To access it locate the Research Vault Alpha. There is a button on the wall that looks very out-of-place, so much so it’s almost impossible to miss. Activate the button and enter the lab. Kill everything, then just stay inside until you’re kicked out. You will be returned to the Allied Encampment and the achievement will unlock.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideI can see My House…
Show your roller beetle the view from the highest point in the Kourna.

Once you’ve unlocked your roller beetle, head to Apizmic Grounds and climb the large rocky tower to the north-west. Climb to the top of this tower and you will find the Griffon Master challenge.

Once at the top, mount your beetle to earn the achievement. If you don’t get the achievement, move around and re-bound at different spots until it pops up.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideDances with Cacti
Show the choya what real dance moves look like.

In the north-eastern part of the map you will find Idol of the Choya. You will also find an event here if it is active. Speak with Tebb so that you can be transformed into a Choya. Join the rest of them below and drop Choya form. From here, do the /dance emote on the small rock pile that the Choya are dancing around.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideDebbie Cakes
Purge infected crops while sparing healthy ones to win a delicious reward.

At Arkjok Farmlands you will find a series of crops that you have to deal with. You will be taken here as part of one of the story steps.

Your goal here is to burn only the bad crops which are infested with parasites. While walking through the crops you will see the parasites swarm around the infested crops. You will need to pick up a torch from the fire and carefully destroy the damaged crops.

If you make too many mistakes, you won’t be able to buy the cakes from Clanmarshal Sana. You can buy up to three cakes a day if done correctly. Once you can buy the cakes, you need to consume them to progress the achievement.

You will need to complete the heart, so once you’ve cleaned up the crops, move on to other events to progress the vendor.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideCrab Kickin’
Kick a surly crab towards the Awakened.

In Corsair Landing you will find the Wreck of the Scimitar. All along this beach area you will find surly crabs. there are several locations fairly close to where the Awakened spawn. Walk up to one of these crabs and you will find there is an option to kick the crab. Once you kick the crab it will turn into an “Angry Crab” and chase after the Awakened enemies.

You don’t need to be very precise, as the crab will chase after enemies for you.

Banners of the Commander

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideRude Awakening
Kill Awakened and collect their blood.

Once you reach the Allied Encampment you will see a quest scroll near the main waypoint. Speak with Lady Camilla and she will unlock the achievements in this section. Once they’re unlocked you can progress towards crafting the banners and working on each collection.

To complete this achievement you will need to kill Awakened enemies. They can be found all over the map, just kill them until the achievement unlocks. the item that’s rewarded is used to progress other parts of this section.

You will need to kill awakened until you have 25 blood to complete the achievement.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideThe Gandaran Service Medal
Acquire all the available medals from the Gandaran campaign.

For this service medal you need to complete 10 tasks around the Domain of Kourna. Complete the following events to progress this medal:

Cannoneer’s Service Mask

On the map there are three cannon events. These are the same cannons that are part of the map meta chain. These events spawn independently of the meta, so make sure you’re taking part in the right event. You need to complete all three events to earn these medals to progress the collection.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement Guide

Cannoneer’s Distinction

See “Cannoneer’s Service Mask”.

Cannoneer’s Ribbon

See “Cannoneer’s Service Mask”.

Slayers Medallion

Along the Front Line you will find an Awakened champion that spawns. This event shows up fairly often, but simply kill the champion for the medallion.

Golmneer’s Certification

Head south of Allied Encampment and look for Reseacher Maggin. Follow the event and protect the golem to earn Certification.

Defender’s Mark

Just south of the Allied Encampment you will find an event to defend the vine wall. Complete this event successfully to earn the defender’s mark.

Naturalist’s Crest

This event is in the same location as “Defenders Mark”, however the vine wall needs to fall and be destroyed. This event will have you defend while rebuilding the vine wall.

Caravner’s Recognition

On the west side of Allied Encampment you will find the Caravan Leader, she will ask for an escort to Arkjok Farmlands. Help escort her to earn the recognition medal.

Inventor’s Merit

Just north of the waypoint in Allied Encampment you will find Siris, speak with this NPC and aid them with their Rez-O-Matic event chain. Once the chat is complete you will be giving this merit.

Banner Ornament

This is for completing the “Be My Guest” story chapter.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideThe Tyrian Service Medal
Acquire all the available medals from the Tyrian campaign.

The following medals are earned through killing world bosses and completing the temple events in Orr. This is fairly straight forward, however the temples don’t resolve around a timer so you will need to wait for them to reset.

You can see what world boss is currently active here.

World bosses:

Kill the following world bosses to progress each medal.

  • Shadow Behemoth (Queensdale Service Ribbon)
  • Fire Elemental (Metraica Province Defense Commendation)
  • The Shatterer (Blazeridge Steppes Service Cross)
  • Great Jungle Wurm (Caledon Forest Combat Distinction)
  • Tequatl the Sunless (Sunless Medallion)
  • Inquest Golem MK II (Mount Maelstrom Silver Heart)
  • Claw of Jormag (Frostgorge Sound Star of Valor)

Temples:

The requirements for these medals state you need to retake the five temples on Orr. Just take part in the events and earn credit for completing each event.

  • Straights of Devastation
    • Mark of Glorious Victory (Temple of Balthazar)
  • Melchors Leap
    • Mark of Eternal Radiance (Temple of Lyssa)
    • Mark of Zephyers (Temple of Dwayna)
  • Cursed Shore
    • Mark of Verdance (Temple of Melandru)
    • Mark of Silence (Temple of Grenth)

Note: There appears to be some issues with the temples rewarding credit for this collection. Simply completing each temple doesn’t seem to always trigger the requirements. Failing defense events while tagging enemies also seems to work. Killing some Risen Lieutenants also unlocks the achievement requirements.

After speaking with him you will unlock this collection that requires you to find Secret Caches hidden around the map. These caches aren’t really hidden as they have a blue marker when you get near them. If you enable ‘usable object names’ as well they’re very easy to find.

The map below details all the locations for the first part of the collection:

After collecting all the items, speak with Gorrik a second time to unlock Beetle Saddle.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement GuideBeetle Saddle

FTT Turrets

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement Guide[FTT 100] Intro to Field Tech Turrets Dynamics
Speak with the krewe leader at the main camp once it has been fully established.

Once the Encampment is up and running, look for Krewe Leader Drazz, he’s standing near the mastery point with a turret next to him. Once you speak with him you will unlock several other achievements tied to this quest.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement Guide[FTT 101-107] Core Turret Dynamics
Find enough schematic scraps off of Awakened Inquest.

After unlocking this achievement, kill Awakened to earn schematic scraps. After obtaining the scraps turn them into  Krewe Leader Drazz located in the Allied Encampment. He will then turn them into full schematics for you to use.

Once a schematic is created, you will then be able to crate this type of turret, there are seven different types.

To create a turret, buy the [FTT] Deployment Kit from Drazz (1 Inscribed shard, 5 Spare Parts and 50 Volatile Magic) this will then give you a deplorable item. Place it on the ground, then reconfigure the turret to the desired outcome.

As you reconfigure your turret it will allow you to create new ones. Repeat this 10 times for each turret to unlock the related achievement.

Keep in mind that while you’re tinkering with the turret the health will deplete. You can repair the turret you’re working on with either 5 or 10 shards. This is required if you want to create several groups of turrets. Kill Awakened enemies in the area to earn more spare parts.

You can find Inquest Dabiji Hollows, and Awakened around the Front Line. This is a large collection, but it requires you to kill Awakened enemies to gather the collection pieces.

Guild Wars 2 Long Live the Lich Achievement Guide [FTT 201_407 Practicum in Advanced Dynamics
Tinker with the turrets by building and upgrading them to discover new upgrades.

As you complete the following achievements you will unlock parts of this collection. There are 21 variants overall.

To apply an upgrade once unlocked you will need to do so through the turret menu, place down your turret and use “Apply a Systems Upgrade Patch” to apply each upgrade. You will need to swap to another turret variant to apply multiple upgrades to the same turret.

  • Level 1
  • Level 2 (5 spare parts per level)
  • Level 3 (10 spare parts per level)

To earn all the upgrades for this achievement you need to complete the following requirements:

  • 10 of each level 1 upgrade
  • 8 of each level 2 upgrade
  • 6 of each level 3 upgrade

In total to upgrade all 7 turrets to level 3 you will need 700+ spare parts. This doesn’t include the parts needed to buy the deployment kit, or the repair costs of the turret if you so wish to repair as you go.
