Streets of Rage

Beautiful, Yet Deadly Beautiful, Yet Deadly
Defeated Round 5′s Mona & Lisa single-handedly with Blaze in Streets of Rage.

During stage 5 you will encounter Mona and Lisa which are the stage bosses’ for this level. You will need to play as Blaze which will allow you to earn this achievement. Once you defeat both bosses while playing as Blaze this will unlock.

These two can be quite frustrating to fight against, so if you’re having difficulty, make sure you use your special move if you die. This will reduce their health greatly every time it’s used.
An easy way to defeat them is holding :b: , keeping hold of it, press :a: to do a backwards kick attack, do this every time you see one coming toward you with a kick or just walking over to you, if you do this successfully you won’t need to move at all and the fight will be completed quickly.

You must be playing with local play only and on your own for this to unlock.

Eyes in the Back of Your Head Eyes in the Back of Your Head
Threw an enemy in Streets of Rage.

The description for this achievement is quite deceiving as using the standard grab and throw won’t work. You will need to face away from an enemy and allow them to grab you from behind. From here you will then need to press :a: and then :b: to grab and throw the enemy over your head. You will break free and unlock this achievement.

Cat-like Reflexes Cat-like Reflexes
Performed a recovery after being thrown in Streets of Rage.

During the start of the first stage you will encounter an enemy in a leather jacket with pink hair. If you walk around but don’t attack him he should grab and throw you. Once you’re in the air press :dpu: and :b: to land on your feet.

Streets of Rage 2

Heavy-weight Champion Heavy-weight Champion
Defeated Abadede in Stage 4 single-handedly with Max in Streets of Rage 2.

Select Max from the character menu and play through up until the boss in stage 4. This boss can be a a little difficult as he can hit through your moves. Max is quite powerful and has a lot more health than the other characters, so just use his slide and power moves when you see an opening. You can dodge Abadede fairly easy, but if he dives at you he will hit you regardless of if you’re attacking him or not.

You must be playing with local play only and on your own for this to unlock.

Declawer (Part II) Declawer (Part II)
Defeated the clawed Zamza in Stage 3 single-handedly with Skate in Streets of Rage 2.

Select Skate from the character menu and play through Stage 3 until you reach the boss. From here you will need to defeat the stage boss. You can use your special abilities. This is another relatively easy boss, so just take your time and this shouldn’t give you too many issues.

You must be playing with local play only and on your own for this to unlock.

Declawer (Part I) Declawer (Part I)
Defeated the clawed Souther in Round 2 single-handedly with Adam in Streets of Rage.

Select Adam and play through to the stage 2 boss. From here you need to defeat the boss. This is one of the easier bosses, so this shouldn’t give you any trouble.

You must be playing with local play only and on your own for this to unlock.

Streets of Rage 3 / Bare Knuckles 3

A Hair's Breadth A Hair’s Breadth
Saved General “The Chief”Peterov single-handedly with Zan in Streets of Rage 3.

This is a little confusing as it mentioned Streets of Rage 3. But to complete this task you will need to play Bare knuckles 3 which is the Japanese version of the game. You can change the games region from the collection setting menus by pressing :back: on the games menu screen.

Once you enter the game, choose your difficulty of choice and play through the game with Zan. After defeating Robot X, the game will continue on with two more stages. The first will have you navigating several areas to find a way out. Make your way to the lift and go down two levels. Once you’re on this level kill all the enemies, then enter the middle door when it opens. You will need to clear this room out then destroy the switch.

Once you’ve completed this task, head back out and to the left to access the lift again. Go up one floor and clear the area. You will need to enter the middle door again and clear this second room and destroy the switch. After the second switch is destroyed, exit and goto the right. You should see The Chief tied up. Release him then continue on.

After you save the The Chief you will need to complete the boss fight with Jet and reach the final stage. The achievement will unlock once you start stage 7.

Ultimate Power Ultimate Power
Max leveled a blitz attack in Streets of Rage 3.

This can be a little tricky to obtain, but the method I found most effective was to play Bare Knuckles 3 with Zan. When you earn points from killing enemies you build apon a star meter which affects your Blitz attack. Your blitz attack when you you press :dpr: , :dpr: and Attack ( :a: ). You will need to reach a point region of around 150,000 which will unlock three stars under your health bar.

Once you have three stars this should unlock straight away. If it doesn’t happen to unlock, just perform your blitz moves and it will. The reason I recommend Bare Knuckles over the US version of the game is due to how easy it is. Unlike the US release, bosses tend to deal a lot less damage, enemies are also a lot easier to deal with.

As long as you don’t die at any point while earning your blitz stars, this shouldn’t be too difficult. If you do happen to die, the counter resets and you will need to start earning your points again. The first star will unlock at 40,000 points, the next star will unlock at 80,000 points and the final star will unlock at 120,000 points.

To make this really easy, you can use Sammy, have the first enemies of Round 1 defeat him with 0 points, once Sammy respawns, his default attack ( :a: ) will have a Rapid function added to it, double this with the 30 shots per second Rapid in Control settings and you will destroy enemies, including bosses very fast, make sure to use the save feature during this, so if you do die or take so much damage, you can reload your save, the only part I had problems with was when the vehicle is chasing you, you have to destroy some walls, if the vehicle gets close to you, press :x: , you should be able to avoid the damage the vehicle lands on you if you do this, sometimes you will have to sacrifice some of your health in order to not be attacked by the vehicle, once you reach the next screen, there will be barrels and one of them will have a chicken which will restore all of your health, everything else is easy beyond this part, by Round 4, you will have obtained three stars, if not, you shouldn’t have to play too far into this round.

A Kangaroo's Best Friend A Kangaroo’s Best Friend
Defeated Bruce and freed Roo in Streets of Rage 3.

During stage 2 you will encounter Bruce who will attack you with Roo. Once you reach this mini boss, ignore Roo all together and focus on Bruce. Once you kill Bruce Roo will be set free and this will unlock. This is relative simple, but easy to miss if you’re not sure what to do.

If you’re playing Bare Knuckles 3 the character names may be different, but this will still unlock.

Imposters Need Not Apply Imposters Need Not Apply
Defeated Axel’s imposter single-handedly with Axel in Streets of Rage 3.

During stage 3 you will need to be playing as Axel. His imposter is the boss of the stage which is located at the stop of the construction site. Once you beat this boss with Axel this will unlock. The boss has a very limited move set, just be careful if he’s far away from you as he will use his blitz attack while you’re approaching him.

You must be playing with local play only and on your own for this to unlock.

Misc

Syndicate Crusher Syndicate Crusher
Cleared every game.

This is relatively simple, though it may take some patience and a few cheat codes to make this easier. You will need to complete both Streets of Rage 1 & 2. You will also need to complete Bare knuckles 3 which is the alternative to Streets of Rage 3. The US version of the game will only result in a fake ending of the game. So to avoid any wasted time you can start out on Bare knuckles by changing the game region in the Collection option menu by pressing :back: .

A Display of Strength A Display of Strength
Used the special moves and attacks of every character in every game (hidden characters excluded).

This will most likely come with time, but you will need to complete every standard move, and the special move for each character across all three games. This can be a little frustrating as it doesn’t unlock when it’s meant to. So you may need to perform the various moves more than once for it to register. You will need to perform all these movies with each character. So just load of the start of the first stage and perform ever move combination you can then switch your character. You may also need to perform the various combinations of grabs, throws and airial kicks.

All the games use the same button combinations, though Streets of Rage 3 has a few extra moves and combinations.

Default Buttons:

  • Special: :x:
  • Attack :a:
  • Jump :b:
  • Rear attack: :a: + :b:

Steets of Rage

With this game you only need to perform the special move once as each character has the same move.

  • Adam
  • Axel
  • Blaze

Steets of Rage 2

Bliz Attack: :dpr: , :dpr: , :a:
Defensive Special Attack: :x:
Offensive Special Attack: :dpr: , :x:

  • Skate

Steets of Rage 3

Bliz Attack: :dpr: , :dpr: , :a:
